Task 1-Tracing

In this task I learned how to trace a pictogram and logo images.

I used Adobe Illustrator CC(AI) to assist me complete my tasks.

Firstly we place the images into a new layer. Lock the original images layer before start trace with pen tool(P).

Then,create a new layer to trace with pen tool. Draw guidelines with ruler tools(Ctrl+R) before start tracing.Trace the images outline with own layer.Lock and hide each layer after outline to prevent mistake when trace other layers.

Finally, fill up each colors by layers with Eyedropper tool(I).

The software i use is Adobe Illustrator.

I used Ruler tool,Pen tool, Eyedropper tool, Zoom tool, Layer tool to help me complete this task.

In this task i have learnt how to create a logo or pictogram by follow the outlines of other images

Task 2 - Mesh tools

In this task we learnt how to mesh a same color with images by use Mesh tool.

I used Adobe Illustrator CC(AI) to assist me complete my tasks.

Firstly we place the images into a new layer. Lock the original images layer before start trace with Pen tool(P).

Firstly, place the images (apple) into a new layer, then create another new layer to trace the outlines with Pen tool(P), after finish the outline, mesh the apple outlines with Mesh tool(U).

Place the meshed layer above the first layer(apple) and start fill up the colors with Eyedroppers tool(I). Press the Selection tool(A) to choose the original images color to drop into meshed outlines layer.

Task 3-Brush tools

In this task we learnt how to brush a images with Paintbrush tools(B). I used different paintbrush and stroke on an old man image to complete my task.

I used Adobe Illustrator CC(AI) to complete my work.
Firstly I place chosen images to 1st layer. Lock the original image(1st layer), then open a new layer to apply paint brush. Open the Brushes(F5) through the Window . Open the Brushes Libraries Menu at the bottom of brush to choose Artistic_Paintbrush. Adjust the stroke of paint brush to apply the paint on the images.Stroke i used to complete my task are ()()()()(

I used different types of paintbrush to complete my task. I use various layer to bring out my paint brushes.

Task 4 - Photo Retouch

In this task we learnt how to edit and replace the colors of original images to another color. I used a lady to complete my task.

I used Adobe Photoshop(CC) to complete my work.

Firstly i place my images into the background, i copy the 2nd layer with same images,
lock and hide the 1st images.

I start edit the images from eyes, so i use Eraser Tool(E) to erase the 2nd layer left both eye there to change their color. Follow step by step from features to hair and clothe colors.

I placed each features with each layers to make my editing process more smooth and efficient.

Task 5 - Clipping Mask

In this task we learnt how to use Clipping Mask tool, In this task, we learnt how to create a clipping mask or an object whose masks other artwork so that the only areas that lie within the shape are visible.

Firstly we need an image and a shape created in AI. For example, Malaysia flag.

Then, we create a shape by choosing (M) , multiple tool to choose shape, press longer to enable multiple shape.
We choose polygon tool.

After created polygon shape, select the image layer and the polygon layer ,make sure both layer are unlocked .

Right click to make clipping mask.

Ta-da~. the first clipping mask effect is done.

FINAL ART WORK

Our task by lecturer is to create a logo or image with related to Malaysia Merdeka Celebration. After seek for lecturer example and demonstrations.

I chose our Malaysia "keris' as background, Malaysia flag on middle, our country National flower as ''57 th'' word, and finally ''Harimau Malaya'' as shape for ''MERDEKA'' word.

Below showed the process in Adobe Illustrator.

Task 6-Photo Manipulation

Photo manipulation , an application of image editing techniques to photographs to create an illusion or deception after the original photographing took place.A mere enhancement or correction is known as retouching.
In this task, we learnt how to use Photoshop to create photo manipulation effect under lecturer guide.
We are given task to manipulated a photo with animal head and human body.
To start the photo manipulation, i chose two files, one with human body and one with animal.
Firstly, use Magnetic Lasso Tool (L) to remove select the human body shape, drag smoothly around the human , always remember to select ''Rasterize Layer'' before you can copy the selected body parts to new background.

Then, for animal head part, I use Magic wand tool (W) to remove body parts left the head part with fur and shape nicely. After use the effect on the fur and body parts, select ''Rasterize Layer'' of the image's layer by right click at it. Remove those unwanted part.

Next, I copy edited image to the human part layer. I use Eraser tool to remove those small parts.

Finally, I place the lion head at the human head part by use ''Free Transform''(Ctrl+T) at ''Edit''. I rescale the lion head to make it fit to human body parts.

Final Assignment - Illustration

Final assignment that given by lecture is create and design our own illustration by using the technique that we learnt along the class.

We are requested to sketch out ideas before proceed to further progress.

My outcome illustration theme is Magician after progress and discussion with lecturer.
After scanned into computer, i started to trace outline an colour fill up with Adobe Illustrator AI.
